Q: How do I know that my order is
safe to eat?
A: According to USDA standards, as long as the meat
is cool, it is safe to eat.
Q: Can I re-freeze meat that arrives partially or
fully thawed?
A: Yes, as long as the meat is still cool it is okay
to re-freeze.
Q: What if my box arrived without dry ice?
A: Fossil Farms uses an insulated box packed with
dry ice. After 48 hours, dry ice evaporates.
According to USDA standards, providing the meat is
still cool, it is safe to eat and can be re-frozen.
Q: Do I need to remove my order
from the insulated box to freeze and/or refrigerate?
A: Yes. The insulation that kept your order cool in
transit will also keep the temperature of your
freezer/cooler from penetrating the box after
transit. Please remove the items and freeze and/or
refrigerate as appropriate.
