did a lot of research into alternatives to beef for not only health reasons but to pack on lean muscle. i have purchased elk 3 times now and it is a staple when i re-order from this company. i pan sear it for 4 minutes on each side and it comes out perfect. I am Trinidadian so i season my meats differently and without salt and it is bursting with flavor.

I never write reviews, but felt had to create one for this meat. My husband recently found out his cholesterol is way too high. This meant a huge change in his eating habits as he is a meat fanatic (ribeyes, lamb etc - he is French). So.. after much research I settled on trying some elk, which is touted to be the healthy, low cholesterol, alternative to beef. We tried it for the first time last night. He was in heaven. This will now be our go to meat. He absolutely loved it - and he is a very picky Frenchman when it comes to his meat. Did exactly what was stated above - salt, black pepper and a quick sear in the pan. The meat was tender and had wonderful flavour He is so happy he can supplement his fowl and fish diet with red meat now. We are trying the ostrich burgers tonight. Can't wait.
