Fossil Farms' tagline is Wild. Natural. Sustainable. and each of these words stands as core guiding principles for how we run our business. Since 1997, it has been our mission to bring the highest quality, sustainably raised products to consumers, restaurants, and specialty retailers across the country.

From an agricultural standpoint, we intimately understand what sustainability means on the farm. Protecting and caring for the land in equal measure to the care of the animals on the land is paramount. This means careful water management, planting and maintaining pastures and crops that are drought tolerant and do not require excessive irrigation, meticulous pasture management by practicing rotational grazing and allowing those fields the time they require to recover from grazing. We work with our farmers, ranchers and growers across our supply chain to adhere to and continually improve upon these measures.

Full utilization of the animal means FULL UTILIZATION, nothing goes to waste. We have been practicing this for over a quarter century, and all of our product lines are built with this commitment to our supply chain in mind. As a company, we find the outlets for all parts of the animals within our supply chain. Meat from the animals is produced into steaks, chops, roasts and ground products for human consumption, offal meats are generally utilized in pet food, bones are used for both human consumption (stock & bone broth) as well as the pet industries, hides are used for leather products and in the case of avian animals, feathers are used in everything from insulation, clothing, home products to fly fishing.

Carbon Neutrality and Sequestration

From an environmental standpoint we maximize transportation methods to the best of our abilities to limit the carbon footprint of getting our products from the farm to your table. We continue to research emerging technologies for lower emission delivery methods. We have conducted exhaustive carbon footprint analysis of our company and as of April 2022, have made investments to enable our corporation to be carbon neutral, these investments in carbon offsetting solutions, removing carbon from the atmosphere, restoring native ecosystems and creating sustainable green jobs.

100% Curbside Recyclable Packaging Materials

We have made the transition to 100% curbside recyclable packaging and shipping materials. This includes all of our shipping boxes, insulation panels and coolant methods. With tens of thousands of packages shipped each year, this will greatly reduce the amount of packaging destined for landfills.
