Fossil Farmsβ Camel is sourced from Australia. While Camel is not native to the continent, they were imported from India, Asia, and the Middle East during the 19th century, and it has since, become the home of the worldβs largest herd of feral Camels.
With such a vast population, culls have been sanctioned by the Australian government to hunt the Camel, however, ranchers have opted to capture them in the wild and raise herds on vast pastures for their milk and meat.
Our farm partners utilize sustainable methods of agriculture, with a primary focus on soil management and rotational grazing.
Camel meat is a lean red meat thatβs low in cholesterol while being rich in protein, iron, and other essential vitamins and minerals. In terms of flavor, it has a slightly sweet taste thatβs comparable to Lamb.
