Job Summary

As the Production & Inventory Control Manager, you will be a key player in optimizing the organization's production process while maintaining adequate inventory levels and controls throughout the organization. With core skills in production, procurement, inventory management, and negotiation, you will be responsible for sourcing materials, negotiating pricing, and managing supplier relationships. Leveraging these core skills, you will contribute to the seamless flow of products, driving the organization's success in a competitive market.

Key Responsibilities

Production & Procurement

  • Direct and provide guidance to the procurement team daily.
  • Manage the production process from sourcing raw materials and working with processors to ensure production meets customer demand while maintaining appropriate inventory levels.
  • Create and manage purchase orders based on inventory levels and forecasted demand, ensuring timely restocking without over-purchasing.
  • Monitor delivery schedules of incoming product and expedite orders when necessary to meet deadlines.
  • Identify areas to streamline the production and procurement areas through automation and innovation.

Inventory Control

  • Maintain optimal inventory levels to support continuous production and minimize holding costs.
  • Conduct regular cycle counts and investigate and resolve discrepancies.
  • Key player in the Company’s physical inventory conducted twice per year.
  • Use historical data and collaborate with sales teams to forecast needs based on upcoming requirements.
  • Identify areas to strengthen controls and improve procedures to minimize spoilage, waste, and loss.

Required Qualifications

  • 7 to 10 years of experience in purchasing, inventory management or supply chain roles, preferable in a food manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with ERP systems.
  • Proficient with Microsoft suite products, including advanced Excel and reporting skills.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with an attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business or a related field.
  • Experience working in the meat industry.
  • Experience working in a USDA facility.
  • Familiarity with ERP system implementations or upgrades.
