Our Story
Humble Beginnings
In 1995, brothers Lance and Todd Appelbaum experienced game meat for the first time. Impressed by the taste of these healthy and sustainable meats, they returned home with a vision to raise Ostrich and Bison on the East Coast.
Lance recalls, “Growing up, my brother [Todd] always wanted to be a farmer, and I always knew I wanted to run my own business. Right then and there, we realized, this is what we gotta do.” Just two years later, Fossil Farms was founded.

Best Burger Ever!!

I ordered the Piedmontese Package which included burgers, a ribeye, and a sirloin. The ribeye was great, I haven't made the sirloin yet. But the burgers were the best burgers I've ever had in my life. I sat in my kitchen drooling with every bite. I'll definitely be buying more.

Exotics

Made a steak and it was quite yummy. Then I made the Ostrich steaks, they were so tasty, tender and juicy. Little richer in taste then beef, we will be eating the kangaroo this Sunday, looking forward to. Didnt enjoy the Marquez sausage, gave to neighbors. Great service, shipped beautifully. Will likely order again.
